What is actually behind the price? MoatLens helps you truly understand companies — from business model and moat to ten years of figures and metrics explained in plain words.
Understanding is the first step — MoatLens keeps the rest in view: watch companies, follow dividends, save your analyses and capture your own investment theses in the journal.

A good company is not automatically a good stock. MoatLens flips the usual order.
Revenue, earnings, margins, free cash flow and return on capital as a ten-year trend — so you see a development, not just a snapshot.
P/E, ROE, ROIC, debt, margins, dividend yield: what the metric means, what counts as solid and where the typical traps are.
AI-assisted, descriptive summaries: business model, management, capital allocation, competitive advantage and risks — instead of a 200-page PDF.
Buybacks or dilution? The share count over the years shows whether your slice of the business grew or shrank.
Ex-dates and pay dates at a glance, plus dividend history over the years and a tax calculator for your income.
Watchlists with a quality overview, a look at the structure of your portfolio and a journal to write down your own thesis.

The most important part of an analysis app is sometimes what it leaves out.
You want to learn how to read a company without a finance degree. Every metric comes with an everyday-language explanation.
You hold companies for years and want to know whether the business behind them is actually developing well.
You want payout history, ex- and pay dates, and the question of whether payments are covered by the operating business.
“Prices move daily. Quality changes slowly.”

Fundamental analysis looks at the company behind the share instead of the price chart: revenue, earnings, margins, free cash flow, debt and return on capital over several years. The aim is to understand how the business works and how stable it is. MoatLens shows these figures across ten years and explains each one in everyday language.
No. MoatLens gives no buy or sell recommendations, no price targets of its own and no trading signals. For context, the app shows the consensus and price targets of external analysts — clearly labelled as third-party market opinion. The app describes metrics and business models and explains what they mean — the conclusion stays with you. MoatLens is not investment advice, it is an analysis and education tool.
The score summarises how a company performs across eight criteria — six from the balance sheet and income statement, two involving the share price (price/earnings ratio and dividend yield, together 18 % of the weighting). The result ranges, from “Exceptional” to “Weak”. It is computed from fundamentals by fixed rules, is identical for every user and can be opened factor by factor. It describes the strength of the business — not whether a share should be bought.
No. MoatLens does not connect to any broker and never asks for portfolio data. You look up a stock, MoatLens shows the analysis — what you own stays with you.
Starting is free. Premium unlocks the AI-assisted analyses and the annual-report summaries — either as a subscription or via one-off credit packs. No brokerage connection is required.
MoatLens is currently available for Android on Google Play, in the EU and the UK. Languages: German, English, French and Spanish. More countries and an iOS version are planned.
The fundamental data is licensed from Financial Modeling Prep. The quality score is computed deterministically from it by fixed rules. The AI explains the numbers but deliberately never sees the share price — so it cannot make any statement about buying, selling or timing.
MoatLens is a one-person project from Germany. The app is young and gets better with every user — feedback goes straight to the person building it: support@moatlens.app.
